SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

The School Psychologist, Early Stages will conduct psychological and psychoeducational screenings and evaluations for children referred to Early Stages. The School Psychologist functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to determine eligibility for special education services and draft Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The School Psychologist will not provide individual or group therapy. The School Psychologist, Early Stages will be a member of the Council of School Officers (CSO) union. FAMILY CARE AND COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

The Coordinator, Family Care and Compliance guides and supports the parent through the Early Stages process and ensures the team and parent have the necessary information to complete the eligibility process. The FCC role is responsible for managing an assigned caseload and ensuring all cases meet local and federal regulations and for determining and implementing solutions in cases that may result in a failure to meet timelines. The FCC role ensures parents fully comprehend the special education process and are provided with the information necessary to make critical decisions throughout the entire Early Stages process. Finally, this role is responsible for completing all required communications with the parent in a timely manner and documenting this work completely and accurately. Learn more and apply on the DCPS Application Portal here.

EVALUATION COORDINATOR

The Coordinator, Evaluation is responsible for accurately assessing a child’s needs after they are referred to Early Stages through the administration of the appropriate screenings and educational assessments. The Coordinator functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to determine eligibility for special education services and is responsible for leading the team’s collaboration and composing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for children with IDEA-defined delays and disabilities. Learn more and apply on the DCPS Application Portal here.
