SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

The School Psychologist will conduct psychological and psychoeducational screenings and evaluations for children referred to Early Stages. The School Psychologist functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to determine eligibility for special education services and draft Individual Education Plans (IEP). The School Psychologist will not provide individual or group therapy. The School Psychologist will be a member of the Council of School Officers (CSO) union. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

The Occupational Therapist, Early Stages will screen and evaluate children referred to Early Stages that have a suspected disability that interferes with their ability to perform daily life activities or participate in the necessary or desired occupations, including personal care, student role, interaction skills, process skills, play, community integration, and graphic communication. The Occupational Therapist functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to determine eligibility for special education services and draft Individual Education Plans (IEP). The Occupational Therapist, Early Stages will report to the Director, Early Stages Center. CENTER DIRECTOR

The Director, Early Stages Center is responsible for all aspects of the performance, productivity, and daily operation of an Early Stages evaluation center. This includes ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, managing center staff, and responding to emergent issues, so that Early Stages is in compliance with DCPS, local, and state special education policies related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Director is also accountable for a center’s contribution to meeting the numeric and programmatic requirements of a court injunction resulting from D.L. v District of Columbia. Read the full position description and apply on the DCPS Application Portal here. 

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

The Director, Operations is responsible for managing the strategic operations for the Early Stages program. The Director interfaces with key in-agency partners, as well as external stakeholders, in order to (1) execute the program’s human capital initiatives, including recruiting, hiring, professional development, and performance management; (2) engage in careful fiscal planning, including budget creation/monitoring and the pursuit of grant and foundational funding; and (3) ensure efficient, quality, aligned daily operations/work flow at each Early Stages site. The Director also provides direct managerial support to six Early Stages Operations team members across two locations.  This position is a safety-sensitive position. As a result, throughout employment this position will be subject to the Employee Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.
