Early Stages Center Director
The Early Stages Center Director is responsible for all aspects of the performance, productivity, and daily operation of the Early Stages evaluation center. Responsibilities include ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, managing center staff, and responding to emergent issues, so that Early Stages is in compliance with DCPS, local, and state special education policies related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Early Stages Center Director is also accountable for the center’s contribution to meeting the numeric and programmatic requirements of a court injunction resulting from D.L. v District of Columbia. Evaluation Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish)
The Evaluation Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish) is responsible for accurately assessing a child’s needs after s/he is referred to Early Stages by administering appropriate screenings and educational assessments. The Coordinator functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to determine eligibility for special education services and is responsible for leading the team’s collaboration and composing Individual Education Programs for children with special needs. The Evaluation Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish) position requires a Master’s in Special Education, an OSSE Special Education Teacher Certification, and fluency in Spanish.
